Former BBC Consultants Face Members of Parliament's Questioning Following Allegations of Prejudice in Disclosed Memo

Former British Broadcasting Corporation specialists appearing before Members of Parliament

We begin with inquiries from Tory Member of Parliament the panel's head, who leads the committee.

She initiates by giving details to the unauthorized document authored by Michael Prescott and released in the Telegraph.

"It is not my wish for the BBC leaning toward one side or the other, I simply desire it balanced, unbiased and fair," he declares.

When asked if he thinks the BBC is systematically partial, he replies: "No, I do not. It is important to note, tons of stuff the British Broadcasting Corporation does is top-tier - both documentary and non-factual programming."

Nevertheless, he states: "There remains significant effort that must be undertaken at the BBC."

A further former external British Broadcasting Corporation specialist examined by the panel, Caroline Daniel, says she takes the British Broadcasting Corporation very seriously and that it has a "continuous process and active debate" on fluid and multifaceted subjects.

"Did the BBC ready to have a genuine conversation and debate and act accordingly?" she questions. "As I see it, indeed, they were."
