Iran Reports Strike on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Widespread Military Operations.
Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed operations across the region in retaliation for a significant and ongoing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area near the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any damage is uncertain and the American officials has yet to issue a statement.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - said they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was striking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on Iran carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted areas linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.
Wider Impacts
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military said it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with notable success and shot down a several projectiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported debris fell on a residential area in the capital, resulting in some material damage and killing a civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
