Approximately twenty-five thousand homes in Queensland's southeast found themselves experiencing outages on Monday morning after intense storm systems impacted the state, bringing powerful gusts reaching 109km/h.
Substantial Hailstones and Widespread Destruction
Homeowners witnessed giant hailstones measuring up to 7cm in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that various areas across the state had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency response teams received nearly 600 calls for help across the state, mainly for property damage but also for downed trees and flooding.

Meteorological Predictions
Humid circumstances were predicted to continue along much of eastern Queensland this next several days as a atmospheric system continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
The following day was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing storm activity anticipated across different parts of both areas.

Medical authorities warned that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the countryside regions, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
