Star Denies Anti-Vax Views After Voicing Controversial Covid Feature

The "Taken" star has provided his voice to a new documentary that challenges the efficacy of immunizations and lauds one-time health official the political figure.

The Documentary's Provocative Origins

Titled "Plague of Corruption," the project is adapted from a well-known publication written by a disgraced researcher, who became famous during the pandemic for assertions that the illness was linked to a problematic version of the influenza shot.

The publication's co-author, a producer, has previously authored books with controversial radio host a known commentator. Heckenlively took to social media praising Neeson's participation in the film.

A Strong Denial

A spokesperson for Neeson have issued a response strongly denying implications that he holds anti-vax views.

"Many acknowledge that misconduct can exist within the medical sector, but that must not be conflated with opposition to vaccines," the statement explains. "Liam never has been, and is not, against vaccines. His extensive work with Unicef highlights his consistent support for worldwide vaccination initiatives."

The response continued that the performer had no hand in the film's messaging and that questions about its claims should be directed to the creators.

Key Claims Featured in the Film

In the film, the voiceover spoken by Neeson includes several controversial points:

  • It claims that pro-vaccine voices have demanded "unconditional submission" to health authorities.
  • It posits that "medical science has become deeply influenced by politics."
  • Robert F Kennedy Jr is featured saying, "The major issue with vaccines is that they are not properly vetted."
  • The narration further attacks pandemic restrictions, claiming they caused mental anguish that resulted in thousands of lives.
  • Regarding Covid vaccines, it cites a view that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "dangerous experiments."

Past Context and Recent Issues

It includes a 2004 BBC documentary about HIV drug testing on children, which was later the focus of a formal apology by the network for unbalanced reporting.

Recently, the political figure instructed the national health agency to change its longstanding position that there is no causal relationship between vaccines and autism. This claim is also referenced in the documentary, despite a new report from the WHO confirming no evidence has been found.

An Earlier Record of Endorsement

Differing from the film's tone, Neeson has in the past voiced strong support for vaccines in his position as a Unicef global ambassador.

In 2022, he described vaccines as "an extraordinary triumph," noting that "The discourse about vaccines in the past few years has lost sight of how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in our history."

The film ends with Neeson's narration stating, "This isn't the end of our journey. This is the beginning of a new chapter."
