The Mighty Nein's Opening Sequence Chose the Incorrect Popular RPG Show Song

This latest animated series, the newest animated series by the beloved role-playing group, revealed an exciting opening credits. It showcases our favorite cast of misfits, outcasts, and criminals kicking ass and making their mark, while teasing at several agonizing personal histories for key figures including Liam O'Brien's mage Caleb, and Travis Willingham's warlock orc, Fjord.

All in all, the opening looks stunning. However, I felt that an element was lost in the music selection.

The intro employs "Welcome to Wildemount", an exceptional composition composed by artist Colm McGuinness. This piece originating from the official score of the same name, the second one put out by the production company's music division Scanlan Shorthalt Music. It's a wonderful nostalgic option, and I believe that devotees of the sequel series will love its inclusion.

Personally, The series' opening fails to capture the hype and excitement that accompanied the show's live-play sessions. "It's Your Turn", written by musician the artist, became an immediate hit in my view when it was first revealed in that year, and it improved further when co-founder Sam Riegel added lyrics to the tune for the series' animated intro in the later year.

Featuring vocals from one actress, another performer, Travis Willingham, as well as the writer, the track was memorable and enjoyable. Back then, I hadn't even watched the second campaign yet, but it was so infectious that I kept it on my phone. This track that excites you before you dive into an episode of fantasy hijinks.

The Mighty Nein's intro with "Welcome to Wildemount" fails to hit the right notes for me. It's a grand piece of music, but from what I know of this party, I feel that its tone is somewhat mismatched.

Naturally, the creators has already said that the animated show will have some changes and differences from the actual-play campaign. An adjusted mood for its opening appears as among these.

This animated adventure will be released on the streaming service from November 19. If you can't wait before that, or want a head start to get to know the personas of Critical Role's Campaign 2, the original episodes are accessible on Spotify and YouTube.
